A bright and diverse collection of paintings, ceramics, glass and sculptures by our GALLERY ARTISTS including a whole room of new work by by our youngest, up and coming artist, Robert Hewer.
The human figure has dominated Robert’s work for many years now. However, it has always been intriguing to witness how he continues to evolve this subject. Never content to settle back and repeat himself, Robert pushes his paintings and style around, and this latest new collection is no exception.
These new paintings evoke a confidence, both in colour and mark making. In close proximity they take on a completely abstract feel as one gets absorbed in the rapid brushstrokes and textures. Then, as you take a step back and allow the entire image to come into focus, the facial features in the images appear as if by magic, and make perfect sense amidst the numerous gestures and colours.
Powerful and dramatic, these energetic, attention-grabbing paintings will excite visitors and leave you feeling like you are the one being looked at!
