The Directors Cut

2nd October – 2nd November 2019

Martin and Donna Goold will display work side by side for the duration of October in this fascinating insight into their differing approaches to painting.

Martin has a long held interest in working with the seemingly contradicting tendencies of structural design and freely expressive activity and the work included in this show will capitalize on this theme in the display of paintings alongside his award winning architectural pastel works.

Donna has always loved colour and capturing the subtleties of it within a painting. Working entirely without the use of paintbrushes and by using her hands as tools on smooth aluminium she achieves a closeness to the surface that results in thin layers of translucent colour that appear to change in the light.
