CARIBBEAN COLOUR
SOLO EXHIBITION BY JEANNETTE HAYES PPPS
A bright and diverse collection of new pastel and oil paintings from one of our most established gallery artists, and former President of the Pastel Society, JEANNETTE HAYES.
Earlier this year, Jeannette Hayes had the wonderful opportunity to avoid the cold English winter and spend time in Jamaica instead!
The colours and warm climate made a huge impression on her. In new pastel works created for this exhibition, we see the influence of the heat and vitality of the island with its stunning wildlife and exotic flowers recreated in pictures full of bright reds, purples and greens.
Further works feature glorious blues – a reference to the almighty sea and the host of creatures living there – turtles, pelicans and tropical fish.
Jeannette experienced an energy in the country which has lifted her throughout the year and enabled her to create this beautiful, fun, and uplifting body of over twenty new paintings in oils and pastels that will inspire visitors and leave them feeling they have also experienced a little bit of the Caribbean!
